About the Owner
Jennifer Garcia
With over 7 years in Early Childhood Education, Jennifer has developed an extreme fervor for perfecting the experience of each child’s individual educational, physical and emotional development. She feels communication with parents is key to each child’s success.
Throughout university, Jennifer taught at a Montessori preschool where her love for the hands-on educational approach took shape. There she planted a butterfly garden, taught the children to care and clean for their environment and got little ones involved with their health by providing fresh fruit and vegetable snacks and encouraging movement through yoga and outdoor play daily. Upon graduating from the University of Houston, she began a Montessori training program where her love for early childhood education flourished.
Jennifer is a licensed childcare facility Director in the state of Texas, a certified teacher for Early Childhood Education through 4th grade, has Montessori training and is a certified yoga instructor. Through physical activity and yoga instruction, she became more aware and concerned for her personal health and the health of others. Shopping local farmer’s markets, harvesting produce in backyard and cooperative gardens and avoiding processed foods has become a way of life and sparked a deeper desire to share this health and wellness with others.
Jennifer’s experience volunteering with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Houston and the Beacon Center of downtown Houston, have fueled her strong sense of passion for others and her desire to contribute to community.
Jennifer hopes to continue spreading a passion and consideration for environment and education through the opening of Heights Green School.
